So Cold

As I rode the train tonight I could see lonely eyes
On lonely people.
There were so cold
I can still remember being alone so many months ago
Before you warmed me.
At that time in my life, I was so cold.
I could stare into the cloudy night
And worship the lovers moon.
That moon that I could never share with anyone
Because of the cold that was held
Within my heart.
I would see lovers and friends telling their petty lies
About their petty lives
And I would see cold they were.
Time dredges onward and I wonder to myself
Will I ever again be cursed into being
So cold.
